The McLaren MP4-25 is a Formula 1 racing car and the racing car of McLaren Racing in the 2010 Formula 1 season .
Although Mercedes-Benz by the (partial) acquisition of Brawn GP an own racing team built for the 2010 season, the engine supply agreement between McLaren and Mercedes was maintained. The MP4-25 is also powered by the 2.4-liter Mercedes-Benz FO108X V8 engine . Innovative was a new aerodynamic system, called " F-duct " (eng. F-duct ), in which air through the car as the direction of the rear wing is guided, that the contact pressure "breaks off" on the straight line on the wing. This enables top speeds to be up to 10 km / h faster. Following an inquiry from Red Bull Racing to the FIA as to whether this system was legal, the concept was confirmed by the highest motorsport authority as compliant with the rules.
After a third place for Lewis Hamilton in the first race of the season - the Bahrain Grand Prix , Jenson Button celebrated the first race win of the MP4-25 in the second race of the season, the Australian Grand Prix .
At the Chinese Grand Prix , McLaren celebrated a double victory with the MP4-25. Jenson Button won this race ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
