Weiding is a municipality in the Upper Palatinate district of Cham and the seat of the Weiding administrative community .

Geographical location
The community is centrally located between the cities of Cham , Furth im Wald , Kötzting and Waldmünchen .

The following districts exist in the municipality : Dalking, Habersdorf , Walting, Weiding. Due to the partial incorporation during the regional reform, the districts of the districts shown in italics are shared with the neighboring communities of Arnschwang and Waffenbrunn .
history
Until the church is planted
Weiding was under the sovereignty of the Electorate of Bavaria . Weiding was part of the closed Hofmark Arnschwang of the Counts of Toerring-Jettenbach , which was administered from 1759 (until 1801) in personal union with the Törringschen Hofmark Ränkam. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
19th century
A village fire on July 25, 1885 destroyed the school house and church.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1972, parts of the community of Habersdorf and on July 1 of the same year parts of the community of Nößwartling were incorporated. On May 1, 1978, the formerly independent communities Dalking and Walting were incorporated.

In the 2014 to 2020 term of office, there was exactly the same distribution of seats between the five nominations.
mayor
On March 16, 2014 Daniel Paul (* 1984, Free Voting Association Dalking) was elected as the new mayor with 57.0% of the vote; he was confirmed in office for a further six years on March 15, 2020 with 86.3% of the valid votes. The predecessor since 1990 was Karl Holmeier (CSU).

The description of the municipal coat of arms introduced in 1983 reads: espalten; in front divided by blue and gold, above a silver heraldic lily, below a blue bar; behind in silver on a green hill a willow with a black trunk.

Jobs
In 2017 there were 610 jobs subject to social security contributions in the community. Of the resident population, 1150 people were in an employment relationship subject to compulsory insurance. This meant that the number of out-commuters was 540 people greater than that of in-commuters. 30 residents were unemployed.

In 2016 there were 50 farms; 1,464 hectares of the municipal area were used for agriculture.

- Weiding is directly, with its own connection, on the federal road 20 .
- The community is located on the Schwandorf – Furth railway line in the forest . There are regular connections via Cham to Schwandorf and Furth im Wald.
- Weiding is connected to public transport with the bus routes Furth im Wald - Gleißenberg - Dalking - Weiding - Cham and Zenching - Neumühlen - Walting - Cham as well as Taus (CZ) - Furth im Wald - Weiding - Cham . There are also bus connections to Pilsen in the Czech Republic.
