About this picture

Wesenberg ( Low German Wäsenbarg ) is a municipality in the northeast of the Stormarn district in Schleswig-Holstein .

history

The current community of Wesenberg came into being on January 1, 1978, when the previously independent communities of Groß Wesenberg, Ratzbek (with flies field) and Stubbendorf were merged as part of the local reorganization.

Fly fields

The small settlement ofiegenfelde was first mentioned in 1736. The remote group of houses already belonged to the town of Ratzbek. In the middle of the 19th century, the flies field consisted of a half hoof , two thirds hoof and four katen .

Gross Wesenberg

Groß Wesenberg emerged as a clearing village in the 12th century as part of the German north-east colonization. It was first mentioned in a document in 1251 when the Reinfeld monastery acquired the place. After the monastery was dissolved during the Reformation , Groß Wesenberg belonged to the lordly office of Reinfeld.

By 1673 at the latest there was a school in the village that was also responsible for Ratzbek. Serfdom was lifted as early as 1739. After the annexation of Holstein by Prussia , Groß Wesenberg belonged to the Stormarn district from 1867 and, with the introduction of the Prussian municipal constitution in 1889, to the Neuhof district. From 1937 to 1979 the place had a motorway junction named after him .

With the Schleswig-Holstein administrative reform in 1948, Groß Wesenberg came to the Reinfeld-Land office and then in 1972 to the Nordstormarn office . When the new community Wesenberg was founded, Groß Wesenberg had 194 inhabitants.
