history

A document from 1342 shows that the Ansbach Gumbertuss monastery in Winkel was the landlord of three properties.

Towards the end of the 18th century - but presumably earlier - the place was in the Fraisch district of the Oberamt Ansbach . There were 11 households. The village and community rulership was exercised by the manor Thann of the Lords of Crailsheim . The landlords were the manor Thann (10 properties) and the Eichstättische Kastenamt Herrieden (1 property). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict , angle was assigned to the tax district Sommersdorf formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Sommersdorf , which was founded a little later . With the second community edict (1818) it was re- ceded to Thann . On January 1, 1971, Winkel was incorporated into Bechhofen as part of the regional reform .

From 1903 to 1966 there was a “Thann” stop on the Leutershausen-Wiedersbach-Bechhofen railway line on the western outskirts .
