Give It A Name, sometimes abbreviated to GIAN and named after an At the Drive-In song, is an annual British rock music festival, held on the weekend nearest to the end of April. The first festival took place on May 2 2005 at Alexandra Palace, North London. In 2006, Give It A Name became a paired, two day festival, taking place at the MEN Arena, Manchester, and Earls Court, London. 2007 saw the festival even more extended, to three days and six different locations, including events for the first time in Scotland, France and Germany. Give It A Name tends to feature post hardcore, emo and pop punk bands.

Give It A Name 2008

The line-up was leaked on the 15/01/2008, and the Give It A Name website and Kerrang! magazine are due to announce the line-up officially on the 16/1/2008:

Shortly after midnight, 16/01/08, the line-up was officially (partially) announced on Punktastic.

Tickets for the event will be released on the internet nationwide on Friday 18th January 2008 at 9 a.m.

Plain White T's are confirmed to be playing through All Time Low's Myspace. Where they are playing is presumed to be below Paramore due to the ticket information saying w/Paramore, Plain White T's.

Thrice are presumed to be playing Give It A Name due to the fact they are playing Groezrock Festival in Belgium on the Friday before Give It A Name.

Also rumoured to be playing are Plain White T's, Underoath, MC Lars (self-confirmation), Rise Against, From First To Last, The Blackout, +44 and New Found Glory.

According to the official Give it a Name forum, the next anouncement is to be made on Monday 28th January 2008, therefore the line-up below is up to date and correct. No bands will be added until the 28th.

On Thursday January 24th, flyers were given out at 30 Seconds To Mars first show of the 2008 UK tour in Newcastle, confirming more bands to the line up! - stu.

only problem is the dates are wrong on the flyer and it says 'MeD & Dia' which is a major spelling mistake.
