Wyssokoje ( Russian Высоко , German  Alxnupönen , 1938 to 1946 Altsnappen , Lithuanian Alksniupėnai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Krasnoznamensk in Krasnoznamensky District .

Vysokoye is located on the south bank of the Scheschuppe and on the Staraya river (slope water) , 19 kilometers north of the former district town of Dobrowolsk (Pillkallen / Schloßberg) and three kilometers east of today's district town of Krasnosnamensk (Lasdehnen / Haselberg) . Before 1945, the place was a train station on the Pillkallen – Lasdehnen line of the Pillkaller Kleinbahn, which is no longer in operation .

history

The village, mentioned for the first time in 1517 and then called Altensnappen , became an official village on April 8, 1874 and thus gave its name to an administrative district that - between 1939 and 1945 renamed the "District Altsnappen" - until 1945 the district of Pillkallen (1939 to 1945 "Landkreis Schloßberg (Ostpr .) ”) In the administrative district of Gumbinnen belonged to the Prussian province of East Prussia .

Politically and ideologically motivated, Alxnupönen received on June 3rd - officially confirmed on July 16th - the year 1938 the probably not so foreign-sounding place name "Altsnappen". In 1945 the place was assigned to the Soviet Union as a result of the war with northern East Prussia .

In 1947 Alxnupönen was given the Russian name "Vysokoye" and at the same time was included in the village soviet Michurinski selski Sowet in Krasnosnamensk Raion . Later the place came into the Pobedinski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2015 Vysokoye belonged to the rural municipality Dobrowolskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Krasnosnamensk.
