Bad 25 is a special editionof Michael Jackson's seventh studio album Bad for the 25th anniversary. Bad is Jackson's second album to be re-released on its 25th anniversary. The first album to be re-released was Thriller ( Thriller 25 ) . In a press release in May 2012 it was announced that the album, which sold over 30 million copies worldwide (the third best-selling album of all time), will be re-released on September 18, 2012. Along with the original album, Bad includes 25 unreleased demo recordings and a live CD and DVD of Jackson's performance at Wembley Stadium during his Bad World Tour , which wasacclaimedby Princess Diana and Prince Charles .

In May 2012 it was announced that Bad 25 will be released in various formats on September 18, 2012. The album, a two-disc set, will contain the original album as well as unreleased material recorded during the Bad Era . The material includes early demos of songs from the original album, demos of songs that did not make it on the final album, and remixes . A DVD of Jackson's performance on July 16, 1988 at Wembley Stadium ( London ) is also released. Often referred to as one of Jackson's best performances, this staging of Jackson's Bad World Tour has been heralded as a fan release for years.

A box set that includes booklets with photos will include both the two-disc album and DVD along with a CD of the Wembley audio performance. A record of the original 1987 edition is also released. However, she does not receive the song Leave Me Alone , as the song was only available on CD in 1987, not on the record version.

Bad 25 is the tenth album to be released after Michael Jackson's death in June 2009 . All ten albums were released by Sony and Motown / Universal .

Launch and promotion

Pepsi plans to promote Bad's 25th anniversary by producing a billion cans with a photo of Michael Jackson from the Smooth Criminal video. The campaign is part of Pepsi's “Live for Now” campaign. Limited editions of 450 ml cans are also produced. All cans are sold worldwide.

Spike Lee announced that he has produced a documentary on Bad , the follow-up to Thriller . The exact release date has not been announced, but the film is expected to be released at the Venice International Film Festival , which will take place from August 29, 2012 to September 8, 2012. The documentary will look behind the scenes of the music clips of songs on the album, such as: B. at The Way You Make Me Feel . It will also include special guests to talk about the album. These are people who worked on Bad , such as Sheryl Crow , who sang I Just Can't Stop Loving You on the Bad World Tour with Jackson . Singles

Bad's original debut single, I Just Can't Stop Loving You , wasre-released on CD June 5, 2012 in the United States. An unreleased demo recording , titled Don't Be Messin '' Round , was put on the B-side. The single, which was not available for download, has also been released on record . The record, however, has the original B-side, Baby Be Mine (from Thriller ), but not Don't Be Messin '' Round . The re-released single debuted at number 1 on the US Billboard Hot Singles Sales Charts , which lists the best-selling physical singles according to Nielsen SoundScan . Also at number 1 was the re-release in Canada and Spain , but only in the physical sales charts. The new release of the song came in at # 1 in America with 5,000 copies sold (in a week).

On August 14th, the Bad (Afrojack Remix) was released as a download on ITunes and Amazon.com .
