Bee Movie - Das Honigkomplott is a computer animation film by DreamWorks Animation that was released in German cinemas in December 2007. (The title "Bee Movie", translated as a bee movie , is an allusion to the term B-Movie .)
action
The drone Barry B. Benson has just completed his college education and stands before entry into professional life. The only job he can take up is work in the Honex honey factory. However, since Barry doesn't want to work there all his life, he leaves the beehive to explore the world. There he breaks the iron command of silence towards people by befriending the florist Vanessa.
From her he learns that for centuries people have been eating the honey that bees have to work so hard for. With Vanessa's help, he successfully sues the honey producers. As a result, the bees suddenly have an immense excess of honey and stop working. This, in turn, leads to the fact that the flowers are not pollinated and almost die out.
Barry succeeds in convincing the bees of the great importance of their work. He eventually settles in Vanessa's florist where he opens a law firm.

Together with Cineplex , the BEEgroup at the University of Würzburg created a short film to better highlight the scientific background. It could be seen in all cinemas of the Cineplex network and provided information about honeybees and their actual life.
The Bee Barry B. Benson presented the nominees in the Best Animated Short Film category during the 2008 Academy Awards .
