action

In a flashback, Head of Studies Dr. Gottlieb Taft of the booze of his school days, based on the humorous visit to Ernst Eckstein's detention center . His memories lead him to relativize the pranks of his students, especially the 13a. The reactionary senior advisors Dr. Knörz and Blaumeier interpret this as old-age folly and report to the Ministry of Culture that Director Taft is sending a blue letter into early retirement.

Pepe Nietnagel covers this intrigue on the part of Dr. Knörz 'and Blaumeiers, who are both speculating on the director's chair, and teaches Dr. Taffeta accordingly. This then supports the 13a in their actions to get back to the two informers.

After Oberstudienrat Knörz defamed the students as “pigs”, the misdeeds culminated in order to record this blatant insult with technical evidence. A whole menagerie of farm animals is driven overnight from class 13a into the classrooms of the Mommsen grammar school. The following morning, of all places, two gentlemen from the Ministry of Culture inspect the school, who instead of schoolchildren only find pigs, cattle, chickens, etc. and realize that the successor to the old director is not doing their job. You ask Dr. Taft to take up his post again. But he now enjoys his life as a grandfather and refuses. Only when he says goodbye, which is framed with a Brahms concert, which the students sabotage by chanting the words "We want our old, nice Direx back" (to the melody of the Fehrbelliner cavalry march ), does Taft decide to comply with the wishes of his students and to stay.

History of origin

prehistory

The film series Die Lümmel von der Erste Bank , launched in 1968, triggered, along with six other episodes, a whole wave of similar films. In 1970, two real and two unofficial "Lümmel" and "Pauker" films reached the peak of such productions within a year. Not least because of the ongoing cinema crisis , the market-leading Constantin film distribution company only released one real “Lümmel” film per year from 1971 onwards. With inadequate behavior! The last part of the extremely successful film series was to emerge in 1972 , which initially had the working title If our timpani knew . 19 years later, Hansi Kraus slipped into three episodes of the series Ein Schloß am Wörthersee again in the role of Pepe Nietnagel , who as a chaplain teaches pupils at a grammar school. The "Lümmel" film series and Ein Schloß am Wörthersee are set in the same series .

production

The director was Franz Josef Gottlieb , who had already directed a film of the genre with Klassenkeile (1969). This time Hansi Kraus , Theo Lingen , Rudolf Schündler , Balduin Baas and Hans Terofal were in front of the camera. Guest roles include Renate Roland , Evelyn Opela , Ernst Hilbich , Hans Korte and Ernst Stankovski . A special feature of the plot was a flashback from the youth of Director Taft, who is played by Ilja Richter in this phase of his life . The scenes are based on Ernst Eckstein's humoresque visit to the Karzer (1872) and, in the pronunciation of the teacher concerned, unmistakably on the character of Professor “Schnauz” Crey from the comedy Feuerzangenbowle .

The shooting took place from March 21 to April 26, 1972 in Baden-Baden and Munich . For the fifth time, the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich was shown as the Mommsen-Gymnasium. The film architect was Max Mellin . Ina Stein was responsible for the costumes .

Film music

The film music was again from Rolf Alexander Wilhelm , the film composer of a total of six parts of the series. The recording of the hit in this film Ja, mir san mit'm Radl da , a cover version of the gospel song Over in the Glory Land , came from Carrera Musikverlag. In the opening credits W. Lind and P. Ciri are named as authors. The version sung in the film was released on a single on the Intercord label. In the same year the song from The Hot Dogs was released on record .

reception

The FSK released the film on June 21, 1972 from the age of six. The world premiere took place on July 7th of the same year.

criticism

"Another episode of the unspeakable 'louts and drummers' clothes, which this time finds its 'climax' in a cattle drive in the school building."
