Bilecik is a province of Turkey . Their capital is the eponymous Bilecik .

The province has 223448 inhabitants (as of the end of 2018) on an area of ​​4,179 km². It borders the provinces of Bursa , Kütahya , Sakarya , Bolu and Eskişehir .

Since Osman I was born in the small town of Söğüt in the 13th century , it is considered to be the nucleus of the Ottoman Empire .
