The German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 under the title Ein Lied für Göteborg took place on March 21, 1985 in the Deutsches Theater in Munich . The event was moderated by the actors Margit Geissler and Wolfgang Mascher .

Preselection

From a total of 877 titles, an eleven-member jury selected twenty titles, which were presented to 300 radio listeners selected as representative by Infratest in a two-part radio program. Twelve titles made it to the preliminary round.

Participants and placements

The competition was dominated by a meeting between producers Hanne Haller and Ralph Siegel . Haller appeared with three songs, for each of which she contributed music and lyrics. Siegel sent two musical contributions to the competition, including Die Glocken von Rom , whose singer Heike Schäfer recalled Nicole - winner of the 1982 final - in her appearance .

After Schäfer was still in the lead in the first Infratest extrapolation, the Wind group, supervised by Haller, finally triumphed with the title For Everyone . The band was put together especially for this competition and was only 21 points ahead of Schäfer in the counting of votes, who in turn had 25 points ahead of third-placed Wolff Gerhard with So lebe ich .

The winning title reached second place in the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest . In 1987 and 1992 , "Wind" won the German preliminary decision again, partly with a different line-up, and placed second and 16th in the international finals.
