The German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 took place on March 8, 2007 in the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg . It was broadcast live on Das Erste under the title Wer singt für Deutschland? transfer. As in the previous year, three performers took part.

Roger Cicero was chosen as the clear winner with approx. 70% (approx. 630,000 calls) of the 900,000 votes cast, Monrose took second place with 20% (approx. 180,000 calls) of the votes. Heinz Rudolf Kunze was last with 10% (approx. 90,000 calls) of the votes.

The show was moderated by Thomas Hermanns . Guests on the couch were Susanne Fröhlich , Paola , Andrea Kiewel and Georg Uecker . The German ESC participants Wencke Myhre , Siw Malmkvist and Gitte Hænning as well as the ESC winners Bucks Fizz , Katrina Leskanich (former lead singer of the group Katrina and the Waves ) and Johnny Logan appeared on the show. The St. Pauli Kurorchester played . Guests of honor were the German ESC participants from 1959 Alice and Ellen Kessler , who were also allowed to announce the winner.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki in May , Roger Cicero took 19th place out of 24 participants in the final.
