history
The first building can be seen on a map from the years 1845–1865; it served as a forester's house until 2007. At the mouth of the Gäbelbach and the Aare are the buildings of the Augsburger mill, which has been located there for several centuries. Two mills existed until 1862 - a customer mill for the farmers and a commercial mill. In 1862 the Augsburger family rebuilt both of them, built the Jordenweiher and thus received higher water pressure for two turbines. The lower mill originally also comprised a farm. A housing estate was built east of it, which has changed the appearance significantly.

There were numerous objections, including a. because of feared noise pollution that delayed construction. The property is the only thing in the greater Bern area that is suitable for this. Completion is planned for spring 2022.
Part of the Bremgarten circuit as a motorsport track is located in the eastern part. From 1950 to 1954, there was Grand Prix of Switzerland of Formula 1 instead, as motorcycle racing. In the so-called second Eymatt corner, the motorcyclist Omobono Tenni had a fatal accident in 1948, on the same day Achille Varzi with an Alfa Romeo Tipo 158 in the same corner . Due to the 1955 motor sport ban in Switzerland , the track had to be closed and was then mostly dismantled.
Rowing Club Bern , founded in 1919, has its clubhouse in the Eymatt.
Eymatt has postal code 3032 because of its proximity to Hinterkappelen .
