Florian Carove


Florian Carove (born December 30, 1975 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor . He appears on stages in Austria, Germany and France and can be seen in cinema and television productions.
Life
Carove received his school education at the Lycée Français de Vienne . After passing the entrance exam at the Conservatory of the City of Vienna , he began his acting studies there under the direction of chamber actress Elfriede Ott . At the age of 18 he made his stage debut in the role of Mowgli in Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book at the Klagenfurt City Theater .
While still at university, my first engagements followed at the Theater in der Josefstadt and the Theater der Jugend (Vienna) in Vienna. He worked u. a. with Otto Schenk , Günter Krämer, Helmut Lohner , Erwin Steinhauer and David Muchta-Samurai. In 1999 he went to the Theater Phönix Linz as a member of the ensemble , where he a. a. in roles such as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet , Pozzo in Waiting for Godot , and as Creon in Oedipus .
He played Christian in Cyrano de Bergerac , alongside Gregor Seberg at the Melk Summer Games and, under the direction of Michael Sturminger, Sebastian in Was ihr wollt , at the Perchtoldsdorf Summer Games .
In 2001 it took him back to Vienna, where Johanna Tomek cast him as Hamlet in Howard Barker's Gertrud: The Scream , at the side of Gertrud Roll , in the German-language premiere. Barrie Kosky engaged him for three years at the Schauspielhaus Wien . He played in successful productions such as Poppea ( The Coronation of Poppea ), The Lost Breath or Hoffmann's Tales . This was followed by guest performances at the Grand théâtre de la ville de Luxembourg , Berliner Ensemble , Melbourne Festival, Edinburgh Festival and at the Sydney Opera House .
From 2006 to 2007 he returned to the Theater in der Josefstadt as a member of the ensemble , where he a. a. directed by Hans Hollmann who played Gwendolen in Oscar Wilde's Bunbury . For his portrayal he received a nomination for the Nestroy Prize ; in the “best young actor” category.
In 2008 he took part in a master class with the director Hans Peter Cloos in Paris. Cloos then engaged him for the role of the rose seller Sad in Robert Schneider (writer) award-winning theatrical monologue Dreck , in the Parisian Théâtre des Mathurins. Carove moved to Paris and began working regularly in France.
Carove worked with Stephanie Mohr in Die Räuber at the Klagenfurt City Theater . He interpreted Egmont in Beethoven's eponymous piece of music with the Orchester national de Lille, under the direction of Evelino Pidò . He worked regularly at the Garage X Theater Petersplatz , including the Austrian premiere of Map and Territory based on Michel Houellebecq's novel.
In 2014 he had a leading role in the French film Boys like us , directed by Patric Chiha . On television he was seen in 2014 in the ORF series Altes Geld and the third season of CopStories .
In 2015 and 2016 he appeared at the Klagenfurt City Theater in the productions of Anton and Schiller's Maria Stuart .
Florian Carove lives and works between Vienna and Paris.
