Velm-Götzendorf is a municipality with 773 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Gänserndorf district in Lower Austria .
geography
Velm-Götzendorf is located in the Weinviertel in Lower Austria. The area of the municipality covers 17.7 square kilometers. About three percent of the area is forested.
Community structure
The municipality includes the following two localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):
- Götzendorf (484)
- Velm (289)
The community consists of the cadastral communities Götzendorf and Velm. Since these two place names can also be found not far from each other in the industrial district (market town Götzendorf an der Leitha and cadastral municipality Velm in the town of Himberg), there is often confusion.
- Lower Austria. Improvement of the municipal structure : On January 1st, 1967, the two municipalities of Velm and Götzendorf were voluntarily merged. The incorporation of Velm-Götzendorf to Spannberg on January 1, 1972 was reversed on January 1, 1990.

Population development
According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 783 inhabitants in the municipality. In 1991 the community had 790 inhabitants, in 1981 796 and in 1971 867 inhabitants.
