Gem County is a county in the state of Idaho ( United States ). The county seat is in Emmett .

The county is located in western Idaho, about 35 kilometers from Oregon and has an area of ​​1,465 square kilometers, of which eight square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Adams County , Valley County , Boise County , Ada County , Canyon County , Payette County, and Washington County . To the south, the county juts out into the Snake River Plain .
