Bingham County is a county in the state of Idaho in the United States . The county seat is Blackfoot .

The county is located in southeast Idaho, about 50 kilometers east of Wyoming and has an area of ​​5491 square kilometers, of which 66 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Jefferson County , Bonneville County , Caribou County , Bannock County , Power County , Blaine County, and Butte Counties . The east of the county belongs to the Basin and Range region, the west is in the Snake River Plain .

history

Bingham County was formed on January 13, 1885 from parts of Oneida County. It was named after Henry Harrison Bingham of Pennsylvania , a member of the United States Congress .
