Lewis County is a county in the state of Idaho in the United States . The county seat is Nezperce .

The county is located in northwest Idaho, about 20 km to the west from Washington and Oregon , has an area of ​​1,243 square kilometers, of which two square kilometers are water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Nez Perce County , Idaho County, and Clearwater Counties .

history

Lewis County was formed on March 3, 1911 from parts of Lewis County. It was named after Meriwether Lewis , an American explorer, soldier, and administrative officer.
