Latah County is a county in the state of Idaho in the United States . The county seat is Moscow .

The county is located in northwest Idaho, borders Washington to the west and has an area of ​​2,789 square kilometers, of which one square kilometer is water. It is bordered by counties in a clockwise direction: Benewah County , Shoshone County , Clearwater County, and Nez Perce Counties .

Part of the county is drained by the Potlatch River .

history

Latah County was formed on December 22, 1864 from parts of Nez Perce County. It was named after the Latah Creek that flows nearby.

Latah County's population was 34,935 as of the 2000 census . 3,914 of these people lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 13,059 households and 7,770 families. The population density was 13 people per square kilometer.
