Grzegorz Piechna (born September 18, 1976 in Opoczno ) is a former Polish football player .
Club career
Piechna played in his youth with Modrzewianka Modrzew and Pilica Tomaszów Mazowiecki , before joining the first team of the amateur club Woy Bukowiec Opoczyński in 1997 . Here he was immediately the top scorer (56 goals) of the Polish regional league. He then changed clubs more often and rose continuously from the district league to the fourth division, the third division and finally he came in 2004 to the second division at Korona Kielce , his first professional station.
After he was the top scorer in the district league (56 goals), the fourth (once with 35 goals and once with 33 goals) and the third division (23 goals), he was able to win the 2004/2005 season with 18 goals Secure the title of top scorer in the Polish second division. After Korona Kielce was promoted to the Ekstraklasa (the highest Polish division), Grzegorz Piechna sensationally secured the top scorer's crown in the first division with 21 goals . Despite an offer from the English club Birmingham City , Piechna chose the financially more attractive offer and in 2006 moved to Russia to Torpedo Moscow . However, he could not assert himself here and scored only two goals in 15 league games. At the end of 2007 he returned to Poland and signed a contract with Widzew Łódź . However, it did not find its way back to its old form here either. After only seven league games without scoring, he was sold to the then second division team Polonia Warszawa . At Polonia he was used 10 times and was banished to the reserve team. So in 2008 Piechna decided to move to Bulgaria to Spartak Varna . Here he was not used due to various problems and in 2009 moved to the Polish third division club Kolejarz Stróże . For the 2009/2010 season he returned to his former club Ceramika Opoczno . Here he scored 16 goals in 16 games in the 4th division. In January 2010 he moved to Greece for FC Dóxa Kranoúlas in the 3rd division. After returning home, he played for various amateur clubs before ending his career in 2017.
