Hășmaș (German: Hagymasch , Hungarian: Bélhagymás ) is a municipality in Arad County , in the Kreischgebiet , in western Romania . The villages of Agrişu Mic , Botfei , Clit , Comăneşti and Urvişu de Beliu also belong to the municipality of Hăşmaş .

Geographical location

Hășmaș is located in the northeast of Arad County, on the border with Bihor County , at the foot of the Codru-Moma Mountains .

history

The first written mention of the village of Hagymas comes from the tithe lists of the Roman Catholic diocese of Oradea in 1581. In Goriolan Sucius' treatise from 1588, the village of Hagimas appears . 1595 is Kis-Hagymás found, 1599 Kyshagimas and Nagyhagimas and 1851 Hastmas .

After the Peace of Karlowitz (1699), Arad and the Maroscher Land came under Austrian rule . On the Josephine land survey is Hadjmas entered. The Habsburgs built a glassworks in Hadjmas in 1741 . This was in operation from 1742 to 1787 when it was moved to Beliu . In Hadjmas window glass , hollow glass for drinking glasses and tubular glass for candelabra were made.

As a result of the Austro-Hungarian Compromise (1867), the Arad region, like the whole of Banat and Transylvania, was annexed to the Kingdom of Hungary within the Austro-Hungarian dual monarchy . The official place name was Bélhagymás .

The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in border regulation, which Hăşmaş fell to the Kingdom of Romania .
