Location of the municipality of Marzling in the Freising district | ||
Marzling is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Freising , about four kilometers northeast of Freising .
geography
Geology and topography
The southern half of the municipal area lies in the flat Munich gravel plain in the foothills of the Erdinger Moos . The corridors up to the district border with the district of Erding am Süßgraben are referred to as "Upper" or "Lower Lüsse", collectively as "Lüsse". These areas are mainly used for agriculture.
The Isar flows through the center of the municipality and is accompanied by alluvial forests on both sides. The Moosach and the Angerbach to the south flow parallel to the Isar in the forests . The Goldach flows from the south in the direction of the Isar and, after entering the alluvial forests, runs parallel to it.
The northern part of the municipality lies in the tertiary Danube-Isar hill country . The transition to the flat southern part is formed by almost all of the municipality, partly up to 40 m high, steeply sloping wooded slopes, at the foot of which the Moosach flows. Only in the area of the main town of Marzling is the transition significantly flatter.
In the far north of the municipality, the terrain near Unterberghausen drops steeply into the Amper valley , which forms the municipal boundary for a short distance here.
Neighboring communities and the surrounding area
In the west, Marzling borders directly on the urban area of the large district town of Freising . Other neighboring communities are Zolling , Langenbach , as well as Eitting and Oberding in the Erding district .

history
Marzling was mentioned in a document as early as 804 as owned by the Freising Cathedral. Since the middle of the 12th century it was a Hofmark of the Freising Monastery and from then until the secularization in 1803 it belonged to the cathedral chapter or the Freising Monastery . Marzling became an independent political municipality in the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria in 1818.
On January 1, 1972, parts of the previous municipality of Rudlfing were incorporated. Also in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , Marzling was to be incorporated into the city of Freising in 1978 or to form an administrative community with the neighboring town of Langenbach. The Langenbach administrative community that was ultimately formed existed until 1994.
Population development
Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 1,985 to 3,238 by 1,253 inhabitants or 63.1%.
politics
mayor

Community partnerships

Culture and sights
The Catholic parish church of St. Martin in Marzling was built in the late Middle Ages, a late Gothic building; Remodeled around 1715 in the Baroque period and extended in 1864. Around 1720 stucco work, attributed to Nikolaus Liechtenfurtner . The stately property of the old landlord in the center was a remarkable testimony to centuries of everyday cultural practice in the town. The building dates from around the middle of the 19th century and, along with some modified farmhouses, was one of the last surviving secular evidence of local history. Schoolhouse and rectory from the early 20th century fell victim to new buildings. After the demolition of the old inn in March 2010, the new town hall of the municipality of Marzling was built at this location.
The local recreation area Stoibermühle (swimming lake, beer garden) is located in the municipality . In Rudlfing there is a former pilgrimage church ( St. Maria ), in Hangenham , in addition to the church of Philippus and Jakobus with a cycle of frescoes from the 14th century, the House of Friends of Nature with a view of the Erdinger Moos should be mentioned.
Economy and Infrastructure
traffic
Due to the proximity to Freising and the favorable transport connections, the community has become a preferred place of residence for commuters. State road 2350 (former federal road 11 ) runs directly on the northern edge of the village . The federal motorway 92 , which runs through the southern part of the municipality, can be reached via the federal highway 301 , which crosses the Isar to the west of the municipality.
The community has a stop for regional trains on the Munich-Landshut railway line and is part of the Munich transport association MVV . This stopping point, which had been in a curve until then, was rebuilt from January to December 2007 with a platform length of 210 m further east. The two outer platforms were connected both from the new road bridge and from a pedestrian and cyclist underpass built in 2006. Another public means of transport is a line from the Freising public utility bus network.
A small part of the grounds of Munich Airport is located in the municipality. The planned third runway would, however, take up additional space in the south of the municipality, south and east of the Stoibermühlsee (local recreation area).
The Isar Cycle Path runs along the Isar .
