history

Herpersdorf is mentioned for the first time in 1137 under the name "Heribrandesdorf". The defining word is the personal name Heribrand, which is to be assumed as the founder of the settlement. 1402 the place is called "Herppffersdorff", 1416 finally "Herbersdorff".

In the Würzburg Lehenbuch , which was created between 1303 and 1313, the Lords of Heideck were given as bailiffs for the place . In 1406 Heinrich von Heideck sold the fortress Lichtenau together with the localities, to which Herpersdorf also belonged, to the imperial city of Nuremberg .

In the Salbuch of the Nuremberg Nursing Office Lichtenau from 1515 5 subject families are given for Herpersdorf: 4 subjects were subordinate to the imperial city of Nuremberg, 1 subject to the municipal bailiff office Eschenbach of the Teutonic Order . In the official description of the Lichtenau nursing office from 1748, the place is part of the main team of Saxony. There were 7 subject families, 6 of which were from Nuremberg.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 8 properties in Herpersdorf. The high court and the village and community rulership was exercised by the Lichtenau nursing office. The landlords were the imperial city of Nuremberg (Landesalmosenamt: 3 courtyards, 2 half-courtyards, 1 empty house ; Lichtenau nursing office: Ziegelhütte ) and the parish and beneficiary foundation Eschenbach (1 estate). In addition to the property, there was the shepherd's house as a communal building and the pig house as a stately home.

In 1806 Herpersdorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, Herpersdorf was assigned to the tax district of Saxony, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Saxony, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Herpersdorf and Langenloh broke away from Saxony and formed a rural community. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . From 1862 to 1879 Herpersdorf was administered by the Heilsbronn district office, since 1880 by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ) and the Heilsbronn rent office (1920–1929: Heilsbronn tax office , from 1929: Ansbach tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, 1880–1956 district court Heilsbronn , since 1956 district court Ansbach .

The settlement of Langenheim and parts of Wicklesgreuth (called Langenloh-Nord) , which emerged from 1945 onwards, were located in the area of the Herpersdorf community and were co-administered from there. The municipality had an area of 4.637 km². In the course of the regional reform , the municipality of Herpersdorf was dissolved on January 1, 1972. Herpersdorf was incorporated into Lichtenau, Langenloh and Langenheim to Petersaurach .
