The Honda Pilot is a five-door SUV from the Japanese automaker Honda . It was introduced in 2002 as the successor to the less successful Passport , which was based on the Isuzu Wizard .

The second generation of the seven-seater pilot followed in 2009 and is one of the best-selling vehicles in its vehicle class in North America.

In February 2015, Honda introduced the third generation at the Chicago Auto Show , and sales began in June 2015.
