history
The place was first mentioned in a document in the valid book of the Nuremberg Sankt-Klara-Kloster from 1316 as "Horbach". The place name is derived from a water body of the same name, the defining word of which is "horo" ( ahd. Dirt, swamp) and therefore designates a dirty stream. In the land register of the burgraviate of Nuremberg (1360/70), four farms that are subject to tax were recorded for the place. In 1414, four landlords were given for the place in the Salbuch of the Cadolzburg castle counts (the burgrave, the St. Klara monastery, the patricians Holzschuher and Groland ) to whom the nine farms were subject. The place was devastated during the Thirty Years' War and remained desolate even after the end of the war.
At the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties in Horbach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach city bailiff Langenzenn . The village and township government had the steward Langenzenn held. The landlords were the Cadolzburg caste office (one estate, a shepherd's house), the Langenzenn monastery office (three courtyards, two half-courtyards, two estates), the Nuremberg Order of the Teutonic Order (one courtyard, one estate), the Imperial City of Nuremberg: Landesalmosenamt (one half-courtyard), St. -Klara-Kloster-Amt (one yard) and the Nuremberg owner von Fürer (one yard).
As part of the municipal edict, Horbach was assigned to the tax district Seukendorf in 1808 . In the same year the rural community of Horbach was founded, to which the places Göckershof , Hausen , Kagenhof , Raindorf and Seckendorf belonged. The community was under administration and jurisdiction of the district court Cadolzburg and in the financial administration of the bursary Cadolzburg (in 1920 the tax office Cadolzburg renamed). From 1862 Horbach was administered by the Fürth district office (renamed the Fürth district in 1938 ). Jurisdiction remained with the Cadolzburg District Court until 1879, from 1880 to March 1, 1931 it was with the Cadolzburg District Court , since then it has been exercised by the Fürth District Court . The financial management was taken over on January 1, 1929 by the Fürth tax office . The community had an area of 9.019 km².
In 1953 the Kagenhof district was incorporated into Veitsbronn.
With the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Horbach is dissolved on May 1, 1978. The district Raindorf came to Veitsbronn and Seckendorf (to Cadolzburg ), the main town and the remaining districts were incorporated into the town of Langenzenn.
