The Ironman Finland is the first time in August 2021 in Finland in Kuopio Tahko on the Ironman as distance (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) discharged Triathlon - sporting event .

Ironman Finland is part of the Ironman world series of the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), a subsidiary of the Chinese Wanda Group .

Amateurs have the opportunity here in Kuopio to qualify for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii , for which 40 qualification places are available. Professional triathletes fighting for the US $ 40,000 prize money can qualify for the US $ 650,000 competition in Hawaii via the Kona Pro Ranking System (KPR). In Finland, the winner and the winner each receive 2000 points, further places receive a correspondingly reduced number of points.
For comparison: the winner in Hawaii receives 8,000 points, the winners in Frankfurt , Texas , Florianópolis , Cairns and Port Elizabeth each receive 4,000, and in the other Ironman races either 1,000 or 2,000 points.

Ironman European Women's Championships 2021

At the first event in 2021, there were no professionals among the men. The Ironman European Championships were held at the women's race here . For men, the European champion was determined on August 14th as part of Ironman Germany in 2021 - as has been customary since 2005 .
