Katrin Lange (born December 24, 1971 in Brandenburg (Havel) , GDR ) is a German political officer and politician ( SPD ). From 2016 to 2019, she was State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and for Brandenburg . Since November 20, 2019, she has been Minister of Finance and Europe for the State of Brandenburg .

Life

After graduating from high school , which Lange completed in 1991, and graduated as a structural engineering worker for concrete and reinforced concrete (also in 1991), she began training as a government assistant in the Ministry of the Interior of Brandenburg (1991-1993). This was followed by positions as an employee in the building department of the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district (1993-1994), as an employee in the Ministry of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg (1994-1996), and as head of the regulatory office of the Meyenburg office (1997-2001).

Between 2001 and 2004 she was the head of the main and regulatory office of the Meyenburg office, completed part-time training at the Brandenburg Municipal Academy in 2002 and graduated as an administrative specialist, and in 2004 became the official director of the Meyenburg office. She held this post until 2014. From 2005 to 2014, Lange was also the first deputy chairwoman and spokesperson for the “growth core of the Autobahn triangle Wittstock / Dosse e. V. ".

The administrative specialist, who joined the SPD in 1995, has been the deputy chairwoman of the SPD regional association of Brandenburg since 2013 .

On November 11, 2014, Katrin Lange was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure and State Planning of the State of Brandenburg in the Woidke II cabinet by Minister Kathrin Schneider , who had previously held the post in the Woidke I cabinet . On April 12, 2016, she was seconded by Minister Karl-Heinz Schröter to the post of State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and for Local Affairs. Matthias Kahl, who left the service due to health problems, was there for a long time. Ines Jesse took on a long post in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Planning .

Private

Katrin Lange lives in Pritzwalk and is the mother of one child.
