Kunratice u Cvikova (German Kunnersdorf ) is a municipality in the Okres Česká Lípa in the Liberec region in the north of the Czech Republic on the southern slope of the Lusatian Mountains . It is four kilometers east of Cvikov (Zwickau in Böhmen) on the European route 442 from Děčín (Tetschen) to Liberec (Reichenberg) in the valley of the Svitávka (Zwittebach) river .
traffic
From 1905 Kunratice was connected to the railway network with the Svor – Jablonné v Podještědí (Röhrsdorf - Deutsch Gabel) railway. In 1975 operations on the line were stopped.
history
The first mention of Kunratice is in 1352; the first church building was cited as early as 1358. The first owners were the castle lords of the nearby fortress, which only existed until around 1529 and today only the name of the Zámecký vrch ( castle hill , 431 m) testifies to it. In 1388 the village fell to Heinrich Berka von Dubá , who attached it to the rule of Milštejn (Millstone) .
The inhabitants initially earned their livelihood from agriculture and weaving. Later three mills, a brick factory, a furniture factory and a mirror grinding shop were built in the village. Due to the expulsion of the German residents after 1945 and the destruction of the smaller businesses, the village increasingly depopulated. Only the furniture factory remained.
