Jestřebí (German Habstein ) is a municipality in the Okres Česká Lípa in the Liberec region in the north of the Czech Republic . It is located in the valley of the Robečský potok (Robitzer Bach) 9 km southeast of Česká Lípa (Bohemian Leipa) and 6 km northwest of Doksy (Hirschberg am See) .
The trunk road No. 9 leads through the village from Prague to the German border at Rumburk (Rumburg) . In nearby Provodín (Mikenhahn) is the Jestřebí u České Lípy station on the Bakov nad Jizerou – Ebersbach railway , the former Bohemian Northern Railway .
history
The castle "Habischenstein" was the ancestral home of the still existing Bohemian-German noble family von Pritzelwitz . From the middle of the 19th century, the municipality belonged to the judicial district of Böhmisch Leipa or the district of Böhmisch Leipa .
Community structure
The Jestřebí municipality consists of the districts Jestřebí (Habstein) , Pavlovice (Pablowitz) and Újezd (Ujesd) , which also form cadastral districts. Basic settlement units are Jestřebí, Pavlovice, Popelov (Popeln) and Újezd (Ujesd) . The settlements Chvístec ( Quis ), Nový Svět and Podolec (Podlitz) also belong to Jestřebí .
Attractions
- The ruins of the rock castle Jestřebí , which have been desolate since the 16th century, are enthroned on a sandstone cliff above the village .
- Church of St. Andrew (Czech. Sv. Ondřej ) from 1780, with a single bell tower in the area of the cemetery under the castle
- Natural monument Lysá skála (Kahlenstein) , a unique Felsberg north of the town at Provodín
- Half-timbered houses
