Polevsko (German Blottendorf ) is a municipality in the Okres Česká Lípa in the Liberec region in the north of the Czech Republic . It lies on the southern slope of the Lusatian mountains in the valley of the creek Sporka at the foot of the mountain Klíč (Kleis) .

history

The village with a glassmaking tradition is located about 3 km northwest of Nový Bor (Haida) . It was first mentioned around 1400. The first guild privileges were granted to local glass painters, engravers and cutters in 1683 by Hroznata von Kokořov, the lord of the local government. In the 17th century, glass cutters from Bavaria and Silesia who worked in a glassworks settled here. Members of the Preussler family of glassmakers founded a glass trade that was later successful here in the 17th century. In administrative terms, Blottendorf formed a municipality in the judicial district of Haida or in the Bohemian Leipa district from the middle of the 19th century . A department from the Mountain Association for Northern Bohemia was active in the village .

Attractions

  • Trinity Church, built in the years 1716–1718 by the builder Paul Columbani. The baroque one-nave church with a prismatic tower and onion roof stands on a hill on the slope of Polevský vrch (Blottendorfer Berg) . In the gable on the west side there is a niche with the group of statues of the Holy Trinity; in the interior there is an altar from the 19th century, a late baroque baptismal font, an organ from around 1800 and an equally old pulpit that was renovated in the 19th century.
