Skalice u České Lípy (German Langenau ) is a municipality in the Okres Česká Lípa in the Liberec region in the north of the Czech Republic . The forest hoof village extends along the Skalický potok and Šporka brooks .

history

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1352. At the turn of the 14th century to the 15th century, the area was divided between the lords of Oberliebich and Bürgstein . In 1635 the Oberliebichau part belonged to the Grand Prior of the Order of Malta , the other part belonged to Pihl , whose last owners were the Counts Kinsky. After the end of the inheritance , the municipality Langenau was formed in 1850, which also included Svobodná Ves (Josefsdorf) and was part of the judicial district of Haida and the district of Bohemian Leipa .

The Rückl company glassworks, which is still in operation today, was founded in 1893.

Parish church of St. Anna from 1720 and the group of statues with the figure of St. John Nepomuk from 1763.

At the foot of the Skalicky vrch (Langenauer Berg) with a height of 483 m there are about 15 underground caves lying one behind the other. The area is now a sanctuary for bats and ants.
