Radvanec (German Rodowitz ) is a municipality of the Okres Česká Lípa in the Liberec region in the north of the Czech Republic . It is located at the southern foot of the Lusatian Mountains in the Dobranovský potok valley .
history
The first mention of it relates to the year 1384. The location of the municipality has enabled its inhabitants to devote themselves to agriculture. In the following centuries weaving and glass industries developed. At the beginning of the 20th century, glass was still being engraved and painted here; The water drive from the Rodowitzer Bach was not only used by a glass grinding shop, but also by a flour mill. The local school was built in 1870. In administrative terms, Rodowitz formed a municipality in the judicial district of Haida or in the Bohemian Leipa district from the middle of the 19th century .
Community structure
The Radvanec municipality consists of the districts Radvanec (Rodowitz) and Maxov (Maxdorf) .
Attractions
The most important landmark of the municipality is the chapel of St. Anthony, the construction of which was completed in 1818. It is also worth mentioning a number of reliefs that are carved out in the sandstone formations directly in the municipality and in the surrounding forests.
To the north of the village, the Dobranovský potok forms a wooded valley with sandstone cliffs over a length of two kilometers, known as Údolí samoty ( Luzengrund ). The opening out at the Hunter House Klíčský brook ( Kleisthenes Bach ) forms the Údolí vzdechů ( sigh ground ) via which the existing seven sandstone rock face of the Havraní rocks ( Rabe stones ) rises.
