Tachov (German Tacha ) is a municipality of the Okres Česká Lípa in the Liberec region in the north of the Czech Republic .
The farming village is located 3 km southwest of Doksy (Hirschberg am See) on the plateau between Daubaer Schweiz and the Kummergebirge . Tachov is located on the northwestern hand of Tachovský vrch (Tachner Berg) and 6 km west of Bezděz (Bösig) with its castle complex that can be seen from afar.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1460 in a confirmation document from Georg von Podiebrad about the privileges of the city of Hirschberg . Its inhabitants lived from agriculture, especially from the cultivation of the famous Daubian green hops .
From 1553 there were noble free courts, as their owners Kaspar Plotta von Jansfeld auf Tacha and Martin von Tacha, who were under the rule of Bösig . In the 16th century, the Wartenbergers acquired the pledged royal goods. In 1595 the Berka von Dubá inherited the rule and during the Thirty Years' War Albrecht von Waldstein became the owner. Via Walter Butler and Christoph von Heisenstein, the property was returned to the Waldsteiners in 1680, who owned the goods until 1945.
In 1784 a school was established in Tacha. The chapel, which belonged to the parish in Hirschberg, was consecrated in 1794. When the patrimonial rule in Bohemia was replaced in 1850, Tacha became an independent community. In 1900 a new school was inaugurated. At the beginning of the 20th century the road from Hirschberg to Tacha was built and in 1908 another to Siertsch . The reason for this was the inclusion of quarries on the 498 m high Tachner Berg for quartzite mining .
In 1921 the place consisted of 42 houses and 209 inhabitants, only three of whom belonged to the Czech ethnic group. In 1946 there were 200 inhabitants; in the 1950s and 1960s an obsolescence set in. As a result, the school was closed in 1963.
Tachov was incorporated into Doksy on March 13, 1976 and in 1993 regained its independence. In the meantime, the population has grown from 82 to 138. In 1993 the chapel was renovated.
