League Cup 1978/79
The League Cup 1978/79 was the 19th edition of the English League Cup , which had existed since 1960 .
The competition started on August 12, 1978 with the first round and ended on March 17, 1979 with the final at Wembley . The winner of the competition was the defending champion Nottingham Forest with a 3-2 in the final against FC Southampton .
