League Cup 1995/96
The 1995/96 League Cup was the 36th edition of the English League Cup , which had existed since 1960 .
The competition started on August 14, 1995 with the first round and ended on March 24, 1996 with the final at Wembley . The title went to Aston Villa with a 3-0 final over Leeds United . The club from Birmingham won the English League Cup for the fifth time after 1961, 1975, 1977 and 1994. Only Liverpool FC had previously achieved this. Leeds United moved into the final for the first time since winning the title in 1968.
