The 3000-meter run for women at the European Athletics Championships in 1990 was held on August 27 and 29, 1990 in the Poljud Stadium in Split .

European champion was the British European Championship third in 1986 and Olympic third in 1988 Yvonne Murray . Second place went to the Soviet runner Jelena Romanowa , who won the European Championship title over 10,000 meters two days later . Bronze went to the Italian Roberta Brunet .
