The 10,000-meter race of the men at the 2014 European Athletics Championships was on 13 August 2014 at the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich held.
In this competition, the British runners recorded a double victory. European champion was the dominant long-distance runner of those years Mohamed Farah . He was the double European champion in 2010 ( 5000 / 10,000 meters ), double Olympic champion in 2012 (5000 / 10,000 meters), world champion in 2011 over 5000 meters and double world champion in 2013 (5000 / 10,000 meters). Four days later, Mo Farah also won the 5000 meter run here. Silver went to Andrew Vernon . Vernon also won a second medal with bronze over 5000 meters. Third place went to the Turk Ali Kaya .

doping
In this competition two athletes were found violating the doping regulations. The results you achieved here were subsequently canceled.
- The Turk Mehmet Akkoyun , who had given up the race, was found to have deviations in his biological passport . All of his results from August 11, 2014 onwards have been deleted. He received a four-year ban until February 7, 2021.
- The Swede Adil Bouafif , who did not finish the race, tested positive for illegal substances. All his results from August 12, 2014 onwards were revoked. He was given a two-year ban until September 22, 2016.
