List of swimming world records over 200 meters

The swimming world records over 200 meters are the best times swum in the 200 m position. They are recognized by the international swimming federation FINA . World records are held separately for long courses (50 m) and short courses (25 m) and separately for men and women. In the following, the world record development since the first recognized world record is listed.
