The list of stumbling blocks in the province of Ravenna contains the stumbling blocks that were laid by the Cologne artist Gunter Demnig in the province of Ravenna . This province is in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy . Stumbling blocks remind of the fate of the people who were murdered, deported, expelled or driven to suicide by the National Socialists . Amalia Fleischer , converted to Christianity in 1917 and studied law. Was admitted to the bar in 1935 as the first woman in South Tyrol . Had to give up her job due to the Italian race laws and then secretly gave language lessons in a convent school in Faenza. Was arrested in December 1943 and Ravenna in the San Vittore Prison by Milan brought. Deported from Milan to Auschwitz-Birkenau on January 30, 1944 . After her arrival in Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp on February 6, 1944, all traces of her are lost.
