List of the incumbent German state ministers for agriculture and forestry

State ministers for agriculture and forestry head the state ministry concerned with agriculture and forestry.

At the moment 16 people hold the office of Minister of Agriculture, six of them women. Eight incumbents are members of the Greens , three of the CDU , two of the SPD , one of the CSU , one of the FDP and one of the Left . In some countries, such as Schleswig-Holstein, the minister is also responsible for energy and the environment .

Till Backhaus (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, since 1998) has the longest term of office of the current state ministers for agriculture and forestry.
