Matthias Kollatz (born September 24, 1957 in Jugenheim , now until July 2018 Matthias Kollatz-Ahnen ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has since December 11, 2014 Finance Senator of Berlin and since February 1, 2018 Chairman of the Board of Tarifgemeinschaft German countries .

Life

education and profession

Kollatz studied physics at the Technical University of Darmstadt and graduated as a physics engineer . He then studied economics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and the TU Berlin , where he received his doctorate in physical engineering in 1988 .

Matthias Kollatz worked from 1991 to 1995 as a group leader and deputy head of department at the State Development Ministry in Hesse . He then worked until 2006 as a department head, managing director and board member of the State Trustee Office Hesse and the Investment Bank Hesse .

From October 11, 2006 to December 31, 2011, he occupied Germany's seat on the Council of Governors and was one of eight Vice-Presidents of the European Investment Bank . He was replaced by Werner Hoyer , who was appointed President of the European Investment Bank on January 1, 2012.

Then Kollatz was Senior Advisor at the auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers until November 2014 .

He was married to his Rhineland-Palatinate counterpart Doris Ahnen for more than 25 years and, after the marriage, had the surname Kollatz-Ahnen until July 31, 2018 . He is the father of a son from a new relationship.

Matthias Kollatz was active in the Juso university group at the TH Darmstadt. He was a member of the local AStA and was a member of the Juso district board of Hessen-Süd. From 1984 to 1988 he was Deputy Federal Juso Chairman. Kollatz was considered one of the spokesmen of the undogmatic - reform socialist wing of the Jusos and was defeated in 1986 in the election for the Juso federal chairmanship against Michael Guggemos .

From June 2013, Kollatz was scheduled for the 2013 state elections in Hesse as Minister for Economic Affairs and Housing in the SPD shadow cabinet of Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel . Due to the election victory of the CDU and the alliance with the Greens in Hesse, there was no appeal.

In November 2014 he was named by the new Governing Mayor Michael Müller as the successor to Ulrich Nussbaum for the office of Senator for Finance in Berlin.

In the election to the Berlin House of Representatives in 2016 he was appointed as Direct candidate in the constituency of Steglitz-Zehlendorf 2 to the House of Representatives elected.

Political positions

In 2018, Matthias Kollatz, together with Senate colleague Sandra Scheeres (SPD) , initiated the offer to teachers to continue working for up to three years beyond the pension limit with 20 percent salary increases . The offer was also offered to other civil servants such as B. judges, public prosecutors or employees in the senate and district administrations.
