Melle is a Belgian municipality in the Flanders region with 11,736 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). It is located in the greater Ghent area on the southern bank of the Scheldt and consists of the two districts of Melle and Gontrode .

The city center of Ghent is 6 kilometers north-west, Brussels about 44 km south-east and Antwerp 50 km north-east.
The next motorway exit is at Merelbeke on the A10 / E 40 .
The municipality has a regional train station on the Ghent - Melle - Aalst - Brussels line.
