Monnaie is a French municipality with 4439 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Tours and the Canton of Vouvray . The inhabitants are called Modéniens .

geography

Monnaie is about 16 kilometers northeast of Tours . Monnaie is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Nouzilly in the north and west, Crotelles in the northeast, Reugny in the east, Vernou-sur-Brenne in the southeast, Vouvray in the south, Rochecorbon and Parçay-Meslay in the southwest and Chanceaux-sur-Choisille in the west.

The Autoroute A10 and the former Route nationale 10 run through the municipality .
