NGC 5966 is an elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E4 in the constellation Bear Keeper in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 206 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 105,000 ly. a. the galaxies IC 4557 , IC 4560 , IC 4563 .
The object was discovered on March 18, 1787 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
