NGC 5974 is a 14.0 mag bright spiral dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type Sc in the constellation Northern Crown. It is estimated to be 94 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 15,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on April 29, 1827 .
