NGC 5973 is a 14.4 mag bright lens-shaped galaxy with pronounced emission lines of the Hubble type S0-a in the constellation Libra . It is an estimated 163 million light years away from the Milky Way .
It was discovered by Albert Marth on May 26, 1864 .
