NGC 5983 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in the constellation queue at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 553 million light years from the Milky Way and about 165,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on March 25, 1865 .
