NGC 5975 is a 14.1 mag bright spiral radio galaxy of the Hubble-type Sbc in the constellation Snake in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 200 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light-years across. Together with twelve other galaxies, it is considered a member of the NGC 6052 group ( LGG 403 ). In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 1132 .

The object was discovered by Édouard Stephan on June 19, 1882 .
