Niedziały ( German  Forsthaus Wenden ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . He belongs to Gmina Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Niedziały is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , seven kilometers southwest of Srokowo and eleven kilometers north of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German  Rastenburg ).

history

The forester's house Wenden , also known as Wendensche Waldbude in 1785 and Dönhofstädt Forestry Establishment in 1874 , was an exclave of the Dönhofstädt estate district ( Drogosze in Polish ) and was located in the middle of what was then Dönhofstädter Forest . In 1820 the Wendensche Waldbude was called a "noble establishment" with a fireplace. 1874 came Forstetablissement Dönhofstädt to District Jäglack (Polish Jegławki ) within the East Prussian circuit Rastenburg . In 1820 there were eight residents in the forester's house in Wenden, the same number in 1905. The responsible registry office was in Wenden ( Winda in Polish ).

On September 30, 1928, the neighboring estate district Stettenbruch (Polish: Szczeciniak ) and the forester's house Wenden merged as an exclave of Dönhofstädter Wald and formed the new rural community of Stettenbruch, which was included in the district of Wehlack (Polish : Skierki ).

As a result of the war, all of southern East Prussia became part of Poland in 1945 . This also affected the forester's house in Wenden, which was given the Polish name "Niedziały" as a place to live. Today's settlement ( Osada in Polish ) is part of the rural community of Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Until 1945 the forester's house Wenden was parish in the Protestant Church Wenden in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church Rastenburg in the diocese of Warmia .

Today Niedziały belongs to the Catholic parish Winda in the current Archdiocese of Warmia , and also to the Protestant parish Srokowo , a branch parish of the Johanneskirche Kętrzyn in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

The Niedziały settlement can be reached via an access road that leads from Niedziałki (Fünfhuben) into the village. A non-passable overland road leads from Szczeciniak (Stettenbruch) to Niedziały.

Niedziałky was also the next train station until 1945 and was on the Rastenburg – Drengfurth railway line of the Rastenburger Kleinbahnen , which is no longer used. Since then there has been no more rail connection.
