Nussbach ( Romanian Măieruș , outdated Măeruș , Măgheruș , Măghieruș , Alun ; Hungarian Szászmagyarós or Magyarós ) is a municipality in the Brașov County in Transylvania , Romania .

location

The place Nussbach is located on the national road ( drum național ) DN 13 and is the northernmost municipality in Burzenland , 30 km from the district capital Brașov (Kronstadt).

history

The place was mentioned in a royal privilege for the first time in 1377 under the name villa nucum , which granted Kronstadt and the Burzenländer legal advantages .

In 1869, 915 Transylvanian Saxons , 514 Romanians and 40 residents of other nationalities lived in Nussbach . In 1930 there were 966 Transylvanian Saxons, 410 Romanians and 249 others.

Before the Romanian Revolution in 1989 , 635 Saxons (approx. 35% of the total population) lived in Nussbach. After the wave of ethnic repatriates who emigrated in the 1990s, the number of Germans fell to 113 (in 2002). In 2009 there were still 102 members registered in the Protestant German Church.
